Office Moving Courses
Course 1 – Best Practice Moving Methods
This course covers the four most important goals and their order of importance for each move. You’ll learn the best practice methods for moving furniture, computers, artwork, plants, and contents as well as the best moving equipment to purchase.


Course 2 – How to Create a Scope of Services
This course teaches you how to control each move by developing a Scope of Services that clearly defines who is responsible for what. You’ll learn how to create a list of specific tasks for both the customer and your movers so that the service you render reflects what you propose in your estimate.
Course 3 – The IOMI Estimating Formula
This course teaches you how to calculate the number of men and trucks for how long for every type of office move including internal, external—load and go and shuttle (round robin, van rotation). You’ll learn how to apply the estimating formula to both case goods and modular furniture moves.


Course 4 – How to Book the Move
This course covers the mover’s contract that must to be executed before every move so that you can collect what you bill. You’ll learn a process that minimizes surprises on the move that lead to Change Orders.
Course 5 – Working with the Floor Plan
This course teaches you the best method for marking your customer’s floor plan to ensure his furniture follows the most efficient routes for its placement. You’ll learn the processes for both case goods and modular furniture.


Course 6 – Prepare your Customer for the Move
This course teaches you how to instruct your customer’s employees how to pack and label everything. You’ll learn the most important points to cover in every packing demonstration including how to minimize the risk of theft.
Course 7 – How to Dispatch and Run a Move
This course teaches you how to use the “bucket brigade” in setting up your crews so that you can “measure so you can manage.” You’ll learn how to supervise the crew and control the customer.


Course 8 – How to Load a Moving Van using the IOMI Floating Method
This course teaches you the best method for loading a moving van to minimize the risk of damage and workers’ comp claims. You’ll learn how to pad, position, and tie off the furniture on the truck.
Course 9 – Marketing
This course teaches you how to get landlords to recommend your moving service to their tenants. You’ll learn how to “mine leads,” cold call great prospects, and overcome objections.


Course 10 – IOMI Certification
This course summarizes what you must adopt and implement in order to become an IOMI® Certified Office Mover®.
